  1. i have flown AS from SJC-OGG and SJC-KOA. One time i had a little kid sitting next to me. We were waiting push and the FA started talkin to the little crumb crusher. He said “this is my first airplane ride ever.” The lady FA said “well u have to work then, u just cant ride for free.” The kid was all scared/confused. About 10 minutes after takeoff homeboy threw up all over the place….

  2. I dont understand the discussion. In Europe it is normal to go with B 737 from Scandinavia or Germany to the Canary Islands or to Kap Verde – it is the same distance and nobody asks about!

  3. @tierren Alaska Airlines is an all Boeing 737 fleet. The 737s that they fly to Hawaii have ETOPS clearance and are capable of flying the transpacific (west coast -> hawaii) flights.

  4. @fsxaddictx Actually, you’re wrong – there is a B-737-900ER, although Alaska Airlines doesn’t have any…yet. They’re on order, though. AS flies B-737-800 equipment to and from Hawaii, but there is no commercial ER variant of the -800.

  5. It’s not that strange. Oakland and other west coast cites are closer to Hawaii then they are to New york and other east coast cites. Continental airlines fly’s 737′s from Lax and Orange county California to Hawaii too as well as aloha airlines when they were flying used 737′s on west coast flights to Hawaii.

  6. @orbitair Reason being I work for Delta & the only planes on Pacific routes are boeing 767s,777s & a few of Northwest airlines 747s which are now flying in delta colors. Yeah I know the 737-800s have increased range & speed thanks to the winglets but I just find it very strange that 737s are now flying overseas

  7. @510mexicana Outbound flight should take around 5 hours to 5 and a half with the ocasional flight getting up into the 5 hour and 45 minute rang. Flights heading back to the bay area tend to be around 4 and half hours to 5 hours and sometimes can be as low as 4 hours depending on how strong your tail wind is.

  8. @mksoct1st09 dude, sorry to burst your bubble but there is not such thing as a 737 ER….. you must be thinking of the 737NG (Next Generation) This contains all variations of the 737-600,-700,-800,and-900. Aloha usually few a 737-700 from Sacramento to Kahalui but had the occasional 737-800 which was leased from Transavia for a while.

  9. @tierren It’s a 737 ER (Extended Range) aircraft, so it is capable of flying long haul routes nonstop to Maui from Seattle. Flew on a 737 ER from Sacramento to Maui when Aloha Airlines was still in operation. Really miss those cheap $100 one way fares. Screw Go! Airlines !!!

  10. Alaska Airlines 737 – 800 from even Seattle to Kahului. Bigger plane, bigger tanks – still a 737.

  11. they give them better fuel efficiency and gives them less drag. most passenger planes have them now especially planes that are on longer haul flights.

  12. it’s only 2,200 miles from oakland to hawaii plus 737-800′s have a longer range with winglets.

  13. nice landing from ASA boeing 737-800 and thats an awesome place to visit nice vid! PHOG is always awesome airport
